Easter Week

We took this week to focus primarily on Easter rather than doing school.

First, a couple pictures of my little darlings dressed up for Easter Mass.

All smiles from Mr X in his Sunday best!

If you remember our Lenten wreath from back when Lent first started, I mentioned the white candle in the center would eventually become our Paschal candle at Easter.  You can revisit the Lenten wreath project here

Decorating the Paschal candle was one of Isa’s activities this week, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Flash back of our Lenten wreath put together the 1st week of Lent.
Painting the Paschal candle
Wiping off the paint
Gluing decorative stones onto the Paschal candle

Our next activity involved converting the Lenten “crown of thorns” wreath into an Easter wreath.  To do this we replaced the “thorns” with white flowers, a symbol of hope and Christ’s Resurrection.

Then we put everything back together and here’s the end result!

While we were visiting our family in Florida we attended the IHM Catholic Homeschooling Conference in Jacksonville.  There I picked up one of Seton’s Kindergarten ABC coloring books.  So I copied the letter E coloring page out of the Seton coloring book for her to color this week.

We wrapped up the week with a painted salt cross project.

And just for fun, I thought I’d share this cute moment that the kids shared and I was lucky enough to catch on camera.  Isa was showing her little brother how to bounce in the jumperoo!  Such precious moments and so much love, I count my blessings each and every day!
