Since this week is Holy Week, that was our primary focus for this week of preschool. Besides learning about the different events that took place during Holy Week, we also focused on learning the cross shape and other Christian symbols.
For Palm Sunday we made a palm of our palms using everyone’s palms from Mr X’s all the way to daddy’s. At only 5 months old, Mr X was the hardest to trace!

We also used hand and foot prints to make a portrait of the donkey Jesus rode into Jerusalem.

Painting palms around the donkey with her hand.

One of the things we did was a modified Little Saints activity that introduced Christian symbols on Easter eggs. Isa and mom colored the eggs while identifying the symbols and talking about what they symbolize.

Another activity from Little Hands to Heaven involved gluing white crosses onto a black background following the story of Jesus’ crucifixion. The black is meant to portray the sadness of His death. The white is meant to portray the hope that we have in Christ.

Our last activity of the week, out of Teach Me About God, also involved representing the crucifixion. It involved planting 3 crosses in the soil as a daily reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for us.
Adding soil to the pot
Planting the crosses
Carrying her planted crosses inside.
That concludes our preschool on this Holy Week. Just a few more days until we learn about how Christ is Risen!
