February & March Field Trip Madness

It’s been an interesting last couple of months. Things were a little slow after my surgery in early February. Afterward we had family visiting to help us out and subsequently took a trip to visit Disney and our Florida family.

Isa’s letter N activities involved gluing noodles to the letters.

The kids had a nice Valentine’s day and Isa did a little Valentine’s activity painting hearts with her finger.

We picked up some sand for the kids’ sandbox to be put back in working order. The kids are quite happy to have their sandbox again.

We also took the kids to Patriots Point which was a nice experience. There is a new Vietnam Experience exhibit that was added since our last visit to Patriots Point. I thought the Vietnam Experience exhibit alone was very well done, humbling, and worth coming back to see. While the kids cannot yet appreciate what they were seeing there, they did have fun exploring the grounds and climbing in vehicles and helicopters. In addition to the Vietnam Experience exhibit, we also toured the USS Yorktown (aircraft carrier), USS Laffey (Destroyer), and USS Clamagore (submarine). It was quite an experience! Especially with Isa and Mr X climbing their way through the submarine. They were the only ones who actually fit through the many small openings without turning into contortionists! We had to keep up with them rather than the other way around for once!

In early March we took the kids to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for a day. Isa got to meet the Princesses Anna and Elsa at the Princess Castle. It was a long day, but the kids had lots of fun.

Isa did some letter O activities involving gluing Cheerios to the capital letter O and drawing o’s onto the lower case letter.

Isa’s fish continues to do very well. In fact, she has been asking for another one! (It is REALLY hard for mom to say not right now!) We changed out all the original plants growing on top of the tank after they had passed their prime. Now we are growing green onions and lucky bamboo in their place. The green onions have really taken off and are producing a very nice harvest. I think we are going to stick with growing green onions primarily for a while. While she was visiting, Nana got Isa a new green & purple silk plant for her fish tank which you can see below.

Finally, for St Patrick’s Day Isa made a shamrock out of a green pipe cleaner.

A special someone has a 3rd birthday party coming up in a couple days which we are very much looking forward to. Until next time, a leave you with a few candids.
