It’s hard to believe two months have come and gone. We’ve been so busy it doesn’t feel like any time has passed at all. I guess that’s a good thing. We have actually started back up with preschool this week after a very busy summer. You’ll hear more about that hopefully by this week’s end. Aside from that, here a few highlights from the past couple months with regard to the kids.
First off, Isa got her first haircut.

Isa also went to the dentist for the first time in July. She did so well they were able to do a full cleaning and all I heard about was how well behaved she was. I guess her shyness has some advantages. At home she is always a nightmare to get her teeth brushed.

I love the pediatric dentist office we chose. They sent Isa a personalized book for us to read to get her prepared and familiar with the whole experience of visiting the dentist. We brought the book in for her appointment and she got stickers and autographs from the hygienist and dentist. They had lots of toys for her to play with and fish for her to watch.
The kids’ paternal grandparents got them an easel to explore their creative side and do projects. Isa loves it so much already and so far is loving drawing on the chalkboard. (Mommy hasn’t mustered up the courage to open up the markers and paint quite yet! Rightfully so, mom took her eyes off Isa for a few minutes and discovered chalk drawings on the carpet…AH!)
Mr X’s world is not as fast paced as Isa’s (yet!) but he’s making his own strides. He’s now able to sit unassisted, can pull himself up to a stand, rolls over all the time, turns himself around on his tummy, and pushes himself backwards to move around. He really wants to get mobile, i.e. crawl, but hasn’t quite figured out the mechanics of it yet. And Mr X is such a good eater and is a dream baby with regard to naps…complete opposite of his sister!
A few candids of the kiddos:

In September we took a trip up to NC with my in-laws. What a fun trip that was and the parents were kind enough to give this tired mom a much needed break from the kids. The kids had so much fun with their grandparents and were completely wiped out at the end of each day. I wish the kids were that tired at the end of EVERY day!

Another few kid candids from our NC trip…Mr X decided he wanted Isa’s Cheerios more than his Puffs. Isa wasn’t so keen on sharing!
| Playing ball with "Koda" as she calls him. |
Next update will be a recap of this first week back in preschool, which is off to a great start so far. Stay tuned!
