Saying Good-bye to Summer

As summer comes to a close, busy just doesn’t quite seem like an accurate description of our lives these days. In fact, it almost seems like a gross understatement. But we’re enjoying life and whatever learning and fun comes our way.

Continuing on in preschool, last week we spent some time on the letter H.

Tracing her hand
Gluing her "hands" on the letter H.

Gluing Hearts onto her lowercase h.

Outside of ‘school’ we enjoyed our neighborhood pizza party.

Both kids loved their pizza!

The next day we took the kids to the pool for one last attempt at swimming before it closed for the season. The water was cold but the kids were troopers and we all ended up having a great time. I bet they will have a blast next summer when it re-opens.

Mr X finally learned to crawl at a friends 1st birthday party last weekend. No doubt showing off his ‘skills’ to all the ladies at the party.

The kids also had a nice time at our Parish Picnic. This is an annual picnic that our parish does but this was our first time in attendance. The kids were completely wiped out and took turns napping during the event. We had lunch and afterward Isa got her face painted, played and got to have a neat little picture painted.

Getting her face painted
She wanted a ladybug.

Isa w/ her picture (she didn't want to hold it so Dad helped).
Mr X was exhausted.

Isa is always chasing butterflies so she was in for a real treat when I found a deceased butterfly in our front yard. It was nice for her to finally get an up close look at a “sleeping” butterfly. She made sure to gently return the butterfly to the garden where it could continue sleeping, so sweet.

And, because there is never a dull moment, I just have to share a candid of Isa’s newest "accomplishment". *sigh*

Coming up soon is our annual Halloween photo shoot. Can’t wait to see the kids dressed up in their costumes!
