Good-Bye 2017, Hello New Year!

It’s been so long since my last update that I’m going to mainly do a picture update this time around. So much has happened in the last few months I hardly know where to start. We’ve celebrated holidays, births and birthdays while also mourning losses. Before the Christmas break, we were able to finish up our second quarter of Kindergarten and fall semester at Solomon’s Academy.

In September we took a trip that included some horseback riding and a day at Dollywood.

Some pictures from some of the local parks in October.

We also visited the library for storytimes although I only took pictures on a couple of our visits.

School is continuing to go very well, below you will see pictures of some of our various science lessons. Science is easily Isa’s favorite subject this year.

Studying a very large live spider.

Experiment simulating the atmosphere and why the sky looks blue.

The water represents our sky, the soap represents sediment, and the flashlight our sun.
This was my (mom's) favorite science experiment thus far this year!

Density experiment

Surface tension experiment (a dish soap propelled boat!)

Experiment demonstrating capillary action

We learned about different types of clouds.

Experimenting with chemical reactions.

Halloween this year was great for the kids, each year this holiday gets more and more fun for them.

November brought with it the birth of our third child, another beautiful baby girl, and Mr X’s 4th birthday.

In December we made mangers filled with straw for the baby Jesus, rolled beeswax Advent candles, watched Isa dance on family day, visited Santa and enjoyed the gifts he brought.

The kids are eager to start their spring semester at Solomon’s Academy next week. Below are some pictures from their fall classes.

Finally, I'll conclude with some candid photos from the last few months…

Learning to ride without training wheels.
